Psalms 16

16
A Miktam of David.
1Preserve me, O God, # Ps 17:8; 56:1
for in You I take refuge.
2I have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
my welfare has no existence outside of You.” # Ps 73:25
3For the holy ones in the land,
they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.
4Those who choose another god # Ex 23:13; Jos 23:7
multiply their sorrows;
their drink offerings of blood I will not offer
nor take their names upon my lips.
5Lord, you are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; # Ps 23:5; 73:26
You hold my lot.
6The boundary lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
yes, I have a goodly inheritance. # Ps 78:55; Jer 3:19
7I will bless the Lord who gives me counsel; # Ps 73:24
in the night also my heart instructs me. # Ps 77:6
8I have set the Lord always before me;
because He is at my right hand, # Ps 73:23; 110:5
I shall not be moved.
9Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; # Ps 30:12; 57:8
my flesh also will rest secure.
10For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, # Ps 49:15
nor will You allow Your holy one to see corruption. # Ac 13:35
11You will show me the path of life. # Mt 7:14; Ac 2:28
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
