Psalms 103
103
A Psalm of David.
1Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all His benefits,
3who forgives all your iniquities, # Ps 130:8
who heals all your diseases, # Ex 15:26; Ps 30:2
4who redeems your life from the pit, # Ps 56:13
who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5who satisfies your desire with good things, # Ps 107:9
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. # Isa 40:31
6The Lord executes righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed. # Ps 12:5; 146:7
7He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the people of Israel. # Ex 33:13; Ps 147:19
8The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in mercy. # Nu 14:18; Ps 86:15
9He will not always strive with us,
nor will He keep his anger forever. # Ps 30:5; Isa 57:16
10He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
nor recompensed us according to our iniquities. # Ezr 9:13; La 3:22
11For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; # Ps 36:5; 57:10
12as far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed our transgressions from us. # Isa 43:25
13As a father pities his children,
so the Lord pities those who fear Him.
14For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust. # Ge 3:19; Ecc 12:7
15As for man, his days are like grass;
as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. # Jas 1:10–11; 1Pe 1:24
16For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, # Isa 40:7
and its place knows it no more. # Job 20:9
17But the mercy of the Lord
is from everlasting to everlasting
upon those who fear Him,
and His righteousness to children’s children, # Ex 20:6
18to those who keep His covenant,
and remember to do His commandments. # Dt 7:9; Ps 25:10
19The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, # Ps 11:4
and His kingdom rules over all. # Ps 47:2
20Bless the Lord, you His angels, # Ps 78:25; 148:2; Heb 1:14
mighty in strength, who do His word,
obeying the voice of His word!
21Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, # 1Ki 22:19; Ps 104:4
you who serve Him, who do His will.
22Bless the Lord, all His works, # Ps 145:10
in all places of His dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
