A strong faith can feel impossible when you are overwhelmed with doubts and questions. That kind of faith seems impossible today. But, what if you didn't have to wait for that day? Most of us like the idea of honesty. But when push comes to shove, it can feel impossible to live out. Some of the most radically honest moments in the Bible appear in the Psalms. They deal with remorse for sin, spiritual dryness, grief, anger, pride, unanswered prayer, and more. And sometimes when we can’t find the words, it helps to use the words of another to express how we feel. The Psalms teach us many things, but one thing they teach by example is how to be honest with God.

Sometimes, no matter which direction we look, it all just seems like too much. Pressures push in on us from every side. Though it’s hard to see, our God is with us even then. In the moments when we need to sit in a dark room, curl into a ball and weep, he is there with us, and he has some surprisingly comforting things to speak into our hearts.
