Ecclesiastes 5:3

This 3-day devotional reminds us that all it takes is one moment when God is involved. He is the One that provides us focus and strength when we need it most.

In Ecclesiastes, the author attempts to find meaning and purpose in life. As we read, we see anguish and regret over failed attempts at happiness through wealth, fame, and achievement. Ultimately, he realizes that the purpose of humanity is to know God and enjoy what God has given us. Only God can provide the fulfillment for which our hearts and souls long.

We hear a lot about “minimalism” these days. But what does Jesus have to say about owning less? Quite a bit actually. Joshua Becker digs into Scripture to show us that minimalism has been God’s invitation all along because it makes space for more time, more money, more faith, and more spiritual benefits. Discover a deeper joy and richer sense of purpose as you hold onto less and receive even more.

Prayer is strange territory. Some of us arrive here with decades of practice and still aren’t sure we’re doing it right. Some of us arrive carrying a long silence; years where prayer felt hollow, or pointless, or just absent. And some of us arrive simply curious. Drawing on the gritty wisdom of the Desert Fathers and Mothers and on the profound theological insight of Rowan Williams, these six devotions are about one thing: experimenting. Letting go of the habits, expectations, and performance anxieties and embracing some new ways and allowing space for a new openness to God to grow.
