Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.” Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him. He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Two thousand years ago Jesus decided the best way to share his good news was through a small group of committed friends. We don’t think he ever changed his plan. Join us in discovering how Jesus led his group and what principles from his life and leadership you can apply to yours.

Join Hillsong East Coast’s online experience and walk through this corresponding plan. This plan is based on Pastor Matt Bartgis's January 2021 message, "Year of Yes". Read through God’s Word within each devotional and reflect through guided questions for both individual consideration and group discussion. We pray it encourages you to reframe your reality.
This plan reflects on Mark 8:27-33, where Jesus asks the life-defining question: “Who do you say that I am?” It challenges us to honestly examine our personal view of Jesus and how that understanding influences our faith and daily choices. The plan explores common perceptions of Jesus, both then and now. It encourages us to embrace Him as the true King of an upside-down kingdom—one built on humility, sacrifice, and servant-hearted leadership.
6 Days
In this six-day plan by Bible study author Andy Klenke, you will be introduced to the Jesus of the Gospels and be invited to follow Him. Beyond a great teacher or miracle worker, Jesus shows himself to be God and worthy of worship. While simply understanding these truths is certainly helpful, each day will help you learn more about Jesus and prompt you to think about how these truths can transform your life.
