1 Kings is all about Jesus! This 13-day plan will walk you through the book of 2 Kings by reading just a chapter or two a day. Each day is accompanied by a short devotional and video that explains what’s happening and shows you how each part of the story points to Jesus and his Gospel.

In the beginning was the Word … but what came next? This plan is for anyone who wants a better understanding of the Bible. It provides a chronological reading program that endeavors to place all biblical passages in their date order. Part Six of this twelve-part one-year reading plan is titled ‘The Nation Rebels, Divides and Declines, 975 BC–730 BC’.

June follows the reign of Solomon and the early years of Israel’s divided kingdom, moving through Kings, Chronicles, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs. You’ll see wisdom given, worship established, and warning signs ignored as leadership shifts and hearts drift. This month highlights God’s generosity in granting wisdom, His desire for wholehearted devotion, and the consequences — both good and painful — of how His people respond to Him.

This is the thirteenth installment of a Bible reading plan following the lectionary pattern, offering daily readings from the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament. Each day includes a devotional primer to help prepare your heart and mind for a deeper, more meaningful encounter with Scripture. Additionally, as we commemorate the 1,700-year anniversary of the Nicene Creed this year, this plan provides a daily focus to help us understand and celebrate this foundational confession of our Christian faith.
