Lamentations 3:64-66

We all experience great loss- a relationship, a job, a loved one, or simply life as it once was. We’re sure that life is not supposed to be this way and so we grieve and mourn for what could have been. And we’re not alone. Join us for the fourth week of a 5-part plan that will help us learn the language and heart of lament in Scripture.

Jeremiah was an unlikely prophet—young and inexperienced. Yet God chose him to deliver an unpopular message to a rebellious people, warning them of coming devastation and calling them to repent. Despite fierce opposition, Jeremiah lived with integrity and faith. He proclaimed God’s message with compassion and tears, communicating God’s faithful love and sovereign justice and the promise of a future when God would once again restore his people.

“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen”, it says in Hebrews 11:1. The Christian faith is largely about things you can’t see with your natural eyes. However, you need not believe blindly. When God opens your spiritual eyes, there is a lot to see! This reading plan covers several Bible verses about blindness, restored sight, (not) seeing, and believing.

In this Advent Infinitum Series, we will be using the themes of Tragedy, Comedy and Fairytale. They will act as doorways into a deeper understanding of surrender, generosity, and mission. Each theme lasts 7 days. The first day will be an introduction. Days 2 to 6 will give you a reading, an experience, a practice, a question, and a prayer. Day 7 is Sabbath, consolidation, review, and recollection.
