Psalms 61
61
A Prayer for Protection
For the director of music. With stringed instruments. Of David.
1God, hear my cry;
listen to my prayer.
2I call to you from the ends of the earth
when I am afraid.
Carry me away to a high mountain.
3You have been my protection,
like a strong tower against my enemies.
4Let me live in your Holy Tent forever.
Let me find safety in the shelter of your wings.Selah
5God, you have heard my promises.
You have given me what belongs to those who fear you.
6Give the king a long life;
let him live many years.
7Let him rule in the presence of God forever.
Protect him with your love and truth.
8Then I will praise your name forever,
and every day I will keep my promises.

Psalms 61
61
A Prayer for Protection#Ps 61 Hebrew title: By David.
1Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer!
2In despair and far from home
I call to you!
Take me to a safe refuge,
3for you are my protector,
my strong defence against my enemies.
4Let me live in your sanctuary all my life;
let me find safety under your wings.
5You have heard my promises, O God,
and you have given me what belongs to those who honour you.
6Add many years to the king's life;
let him live on and on!
7May he rule for ever in your presence, O God;
protect him with your constant love and faithfulness.
8So I will always sing praises to you,
as I offer you daily what I have promised.
