And at approximately the ninth hour, Jesus shouted with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” )

And behold, the curtain of the temple was split in two from top to bottom, and the earth shook and the rocks were cleaved. The tombs also were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised

And when Jesus had cried out once more with a loud voice, He yielded up His spirit.

Now the centurion and those with him, who were keeping watch over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that happened, were greatly afraid, saying, “Truly, this was God’s Son!”

Now from the sixth hour,* darkness was over all the land until the ninth hour.*

Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus, the One called Christ?” They all said, “Let Him be crucified!” And he said, “Why? What evil has He done?” But they kept crying aloud with increased intensity, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”
