And with reference to the seed in the good soil—these are the ones who, upon hearing the word, hold fast to it with a noble and good heart, and bear fruit by perseverance.

And with reference to what fell among the thorns—these are the ones who hear, and as they go along are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and they do not bring fruit to maturity.

And those on the rock are the ones who, when they hear, receive it with joy, but these do not have root—who believe for a time, but in a time of testing fall away.

And He said to them, “Where is your faith?” But they were afraid and marvelled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?”*

and those along the way are the ones who hear—then the devil comes and snatches away the word from their heart, in order that they may not believe and be saved.

For nothing is concealed that will not become manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light.

Having seen that she had not escaped notice, the woman came trembling and fell down before Him. She declared before all the people for what reason she had touched Him, and how she had immediately been healed. And He said to her, “Daughter, * your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”

And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, “Master, master, we are perishing.” So, when He woke up, He rebuked the wind and the surging of the water, and they ceased, and there was a calm.
