So you must be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not think.”

“But seek His kingdom, and these things * will be added to you.

And He said to them, “Watch out and be on guard against all covetousness, because one’s life is not defined by the abundance of his possessions.”

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be as well.

And which of you, by being anxious, can add one cubit to his height? *

And He said to His disciples, “For this reason, I say to you: Do not be anxious for your * life, what you will eat, nor for your body, what you will wear.

As a matter of fact, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are esteemed more highly than many sparrows.

“Do not fear, little flock, because your Father has resolved in His pleasure * to give you the kingdom.

“Consider the ravens, that they neither sow nor reap; to them, there is neither storehouse nor barn, yet God feeds them. How much more valuable you are than the birds?

“And you, do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not be in a state of anxious uncertainty.

But if God clothes the grass in the field in this way—which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven—how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith!

But nothing is concealed which will not be revealed, * or hidden which will not be made known.
