Now when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, * do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord, You know that I regard You with affection.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” He said to him again, for a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord, You know that I regard You with affection.” He said to him, “Shepherd My sheep.” He said to him for the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you regard Me with affection?” Peter was distressed, because He said to him the third time, “Do you regard Me with affection?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I regard You with affection.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.

Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and bring you where you do not want to go.”

And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, but could no longer pull it in, because of the large number of fish.

Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We also are coming with you.” They went out and* got into the boat, but during that night they caught nothing.
