For our conflict is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities,* against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.*

praying at all times* in the Spirit with all prayer and supplication. And with this in view, remain ever watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

Put on the complete armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

For this reason, take up the complete armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

In addition to all this,** take up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one, and take* the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

Stand, therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your* feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.*

Finally,* be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

“Honour your father and mother” (which is the first commandment with a promise), “so that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.”*

Children, obey your parents in the Lord,* for this is right.*
