Jesus said to her gently, "Daughter, your faith has healed you and made you whole. Go in peace and be permanently well from your disease."

A woman was in the crowd who had suffered from a discharge of blood for twelve long years. She had endured much suffering under the care of many physicians. She had spent all her financial resources on treatments, but had not been helped in any way. Instead, her condition had only grown worse.

Immediately the flow of blood stopped and dried up. She felt in her body that she had been healed from her affliction.

Taking the child by the hand, He said to her in Aramaic, "Talitha koum!"—which is translated, "Little girl, I say to you, arise and get up!"

While Jesus was still speaking to the woman, messengers came from the house of Jairus the synagogue ruler, saying, "Your daughter has died. Why trouble the Teacher any further? It is too late." But Jesus, overhearing what was being said and disregarding their message of despair, said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid. Only believe and trust Me."

Jesus had been commanding him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!" Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" The demon answered, "My name is Legion, because we are many"—indicating thousands of demons possessed this man.
