Jesus begins his earthly ministry when he is about thirty years old (Luke 3:23). We call this phase “Ministry Foundations.” It lasts about a year and a half. During this time, Jesus will issue two calls. To unbelievers, he says, “Come and see.” To believers, he says, “Follow me” (John 1:39-40).

This reading plan explores the fourth gospel. John wrote the fourth gospel to assure persecuted Jewish believers that Jesus was the fulfillment of God's ancient promises to the Jews; that Jesus really is the Christ, the Son of God. John wanted to make sure that they would remain faithful to Jesus and enjoy abundant life in him.

Luke's Gospel showcases Jesus' humanity as God-man, emphasizing compassion and relatability. It introduces famous parables like the Prodigal Son and Good Samaritan. With more details on Jesus' birth, Luke provides a clear mission statement. In contrast, John's Gospel adopts a unique style, featuring "I AM" statements and focusing on signs. Its purpose is to foster belief in Jesus as the Son of God for eternal life.

This plan explores the stories of those who encountered the healing touch of Jesus. His touch was powerful, filled with grace, driven by compassion, and overflowing with love and hope. Whether great or small, rich or poor, young or old, sinner or saint—Jesus showed no partiality. His touch of grace extends to all, transforming lives without exception. No one is beyond the loving and healing embrace of Jesus.

The citizens of the Kingdom need to live a life ruled by some principles belonging to God, such as priorities in life, responsibilities, fruitfulness, perseverance of faith, and so on. This plan is dedicated to clarifying these topics that are essential in the life of a follower of Christ or someone who wants to become a citizen of the Kingdom of God.

What do the miracles that Jesus performed 2000 years ago have to do with your life? Quite a lot, because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is a God of miracles and just as he raised his friend Lazarus from the dead back then, he can give you new life today in areas of your life that have long felt dead.
