He is likely the last living eyewitness from the inner circle. He lives in a time of intense pressure. Both the Romans and the Jewish authorities want to wipe out the message of Jesus, and within the churches, people are emerging who downgrade Jesus to just a "good teacher." John writes the Gospel of John. His goal: To prove that Jesus truly is the Son of God.
