Every year, we gather to pray and fast so we can listen to God’s voice and know what He is telling us to do. Amid impossible situations, God’s miracles and wonders point to who He is so that we may trust Him and share about Him with others. This family devotional is designed to be used by parents with children from ages two to twelve.

When we have a true encounter with Jesus, our life is never the same again. Our whole being is transformed into something new, something inexplicable. Every old thought, practice, and everything passes away, and now all things are made new. "Remember not things past, nor remember things old" Isaiah 43:18. Life is confusing and overwhelming at times. We wish there was a simple answer to our questions and problems, so why do we resist when people say, “What you need is Jesus”? Truth? “Jesus” isn’t just a church answer to church questions. As members of the early church discovered, Jesus is the answer you’re looking for. He really is what you need. Period.

God gave the Israelites instructions on how to serve Him and how to treat fellow people. These “ten commandments” were like a constitution designed by God Himself, meant for his glory and the well-being of the people. They are still a valuable guideline for our life with God and with other people. This Reading Plan studies all ten commandments and the summary that Jesus gave us.

(Part one of a four part journey through the Books of Acts.) Even in (and especially in?) hard times, God is present and is working to build His Church. We can find encouragement in this. When circumstances force us to pivot, we don’t have to lose heart - God is with us.

The book of Acts shows us how God used the disciples in the days after Jesus’ ascension to impact the world with the power of the Gospel message.
