Across the world today, in many church pulpits, the simple, but powerful, redemptive, and life - transforming gospel has been replaced with moralistic diatribes, the false prosperity doctrine, jokes, and motivational talks about how people can fulfill their potential (whatever that means). As a result of this, the church has lost its Christ - focused mandate to be a community of grace and celebration in which people find reconciliation with God, and hence, meaning and hope in their lives.
