Day 4:

Spirit

We are absolutely spiritual beings who must possess a heart aligned with our Heavenly Father’s heart. Spirit and heart are interchangeable in this context. Who we are at our core is born out of our heart condition. God’s Word is very clear on the importance of what’s in, and what comes out of, our hearts (spirit). “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (Matthew 12:34) “Guard your heart more than anything else, because the source of your life flows from it.” (Proverbs 4:23)

God has proven that any heart can be transformed from sinful and destructive into a heart of humility and service. The Apostle Paul experienced one of the most radical and supernatural heart transformations in the history of all existence. As you know, Jesus revealed Himself to Paul on his journey to Damascus. Although Paul was mostly known for persecuting and killing Christians, he was forever changed by this Spiritual encounter with Jesus. Paul’s powerful testimony proves how God can intervene and restore at any time and for anyone.

God’s plan and purpose prevail, despite our past. He usually begins the process of spiritual metamorphosis within our hearts. To be a savage warrior for the Kingdom, a man must examine and course correct matters of the heart that are either dishonoring, in opposition of, or in direct disobedience to God’s Word and design. Born with a sinful nature, prior to our complete surrender to the lordship of Jesus Christ, we require a significant overhaul of our spiritual engine. Paul’s journey of repentance and salvation proves the value and utility of genuine submission to God’s will. God uses those who yield to and receive His grace. Warriors are called to be different by design. We are called to function at exceptional levels of humility, meekness, and courage in order to separate ourselves from the pack and lead with nobility.
