I watched in admiration as the two magnificent craft slid down out of the cold, winter sky. They held formation perfectly, their wing tips perilously close as they lined up on the final leg of their approach. The lead flyer and his wingman flared out together, tilting their noses upward with full flaps and landing gear down to reduce speed for a perfect touchdown. I whispered Wow in admiration at their skill, but my major praise was reserved for the designer of such a machine. How in the world could someone create such a miraculous craft! As the point man slowed, he casually flapped the wings, then wiggled the tail like a woman shaking out her dust mop, and settled into the water as if to say, Pretty cool, eh? The flyers were Canadian geese, their landing strip the Chesapeake Bay, their Creator my miracle-working Dad.
The bay was frigid. Ice stretched from the shore for a half mile into its salty waters, leaving a few fissures, one of which served as the landing strip. As the sun settled into the icy waters, they seemed oblivious to the cold. And they were still there at dawn! They'd slept with their feet in that freezing water! How'd you like to be married to someone like that and have her plant those feet on your earthsuit about 3:00 A.M.? Our awesome Spiritual Dad designed their feet and legs to feel comfortable in ice water. I understand He did it by installing very few blood vessels in their lower extremities and encasing them in a thick layer of fat. What a God!
I saw, by God's grace. I know Who did that and experienced the thrill of relationship and intimacy with Him as I marveled at His handiwork. He staged that flight of two just for me. I'm so grateful that you, too, have eyes to see. Three is not a crowd. Take place next to me. The view is spectacular.

Has your faith become more of a burden than a source of joy and rest? The Christian life is not difficult to live. It's impossible to live! God never intended for you to live it. Jesus Christ is the only one who who has ever successfully lived the Christian life, and His plan is to live it through you. We expend so much energy spinning our wheels, trying to live for God instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to live through us. In this deeply personal, encouraging devotional plan, Anabel Gillham comes alongside you to teach you how to allow Christ to express His overcoming life through you on a moment-by-moment basis. It will remind you of who you are in Christ. It will open the floodgates of God's grace, guiding you to experience true rest and freedom in the midst of the storms of life.
