Bold Faith - Part 3 - SE StudentsHalimbawa

Have you ever been told to hold your breath and your hiccups will go away? Or that someone should scare you and that will make them go away? It doesn’t make sense that holding your breath or being scared would help cure your hiccups. Even though the situation doesn’t make sense, it still works.
That’s exactly the situation that Joshua found himself in. As he was leading the Israelites toward the city of Jericho, God promised that the Israelites would conquer the city. You might think that God told Joshua He would give all of the soldiers supernatural strength or the ability to climb the city walls. Instead, God did something crazy, something unexpected, something that didn’t make sense. He commanded Joshua to have his army march around the city walls for seven days, and on that final day the walls would crumble down. What a weird way for an army to capture a city. But that’s how God chose to capture Jericho.
The amazing thing is that God can use whatever situation He likes to accomplish His will. Sometimes, those situations may seem weird to us, but they’re not weird to God. Today, take some time and reflect on this: is there anything that doesn’t make sense to you, but you have felt God calling you to in your life?
