  BUILDING THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16

In the Bible class, we are taught that man consists of three elements: spirit, soul, and body. The Bible also describes our spirit as a lamp. This is the reason why we need to be born again spiritually which can only happen when we open our hearts and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

What about the soul and body? Our souls refer to our thoughts, feelings, and desires. By living according to His Word, our souls will be satisfied and our character will always be renewed to be like Christ. Our body is also important as it is the temple where the Holy Spirit is present in us. 

The Psalmist says that every deed that is done by holy hands will receive the favor of God. Those who live like this will be able to ascend to the mountain of the Lord and experience an encounter with the holiness of God. 

Therefore, build the temple of the Lord. Surrender your body so that it can be used to do righteous deeds. Do not let your body be used by the evil one. Remember that our body is the temple of God. 

Give your heart to be led by the Holy Spirit.
