Who Is God: Devotions From Time of GraceMfano

Our heavenly Father is always listening
“You’re not listening to me!” For centuries these angry words have been hollered by fearful wives at their clueless husbands. Wives are absolutely certain about this central truth: “If you love me, you will listen to me.”
Now this is also true of our relationship with God. Since we cannot hold a back-and-forth conversation with God directly, we often grow fearful that we are all alone and that God is not listening to our prayers. The Lord Jesus promises us that our heavenly Father is always listening and that he answers all prayers that come from his children. John chapter 16 tells us that on the night before Jesus died for us, he said, “I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name” (verse 23).
