While we were still sinners, Christ died for us
Everybody needs approval from others. Even strong, self-confident achievers are hungry for approval. You and I often might have a restless insecurity about life and other people. And we might feel insecure about our relationship with God because our consciences inform us that we have done evil. That makes us fear that God disapproves of us.
But take heart. You can go boldly through life knowing with certainty that God loves you, for his approval is based not on your performance but on Christ’s. The Bible says in Romans 5:8, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Whenever you have one of those panicky moments of fear, just go to the cross of Jesus.
