Voice of Truth 

Jesus Christ identifies those who belong to Him. They are those people who listen to His voice. They listen to His directions and carry them out. They are the ones whom the Lord blesses with prosperity, and peace and fills their heart with joy. 

Pope John XXIII once was supposed to call for an assembly of his people the following day to implement certain plans. The very thought of meeting his congregation who may oppose his plans made him anxious. He spent a sleepless night and was strolling on his terrace. Just then, he heard a voice saying very distinctly in his ears, “Little John, go to sleep”. He was wondering who would call him in the dead of night. Only his mother used to call him with so much affection but she was no more. Only then did he realize that it was the voice of the Almighty God. Immediately, his heart was filled with a divine peace. He slept soundly that night like a babe in the arms of its mother. The next day, when he presented his plans before the congregation, everyone listened to his suggestions and gave their consent with one accord. 

Yes, my friend because he obeyed God’s voice and led a holy life, God resided in his heart and home. If God could accomplish the work perfectly for this man of God, will He not do it for you too? Listen to His voice and follow His lead. 

Prayer

“Lord God, You are the good shepherd who watches over me. Thank You Father. As Your Son Jesus Christ laid down His life for me, today I completely surrender my life to You. As a sheep knows its shepherd’s voice, Lord please help me to listen to Your voice. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
