GOD'S LOVING PROMISES: HE IS FULL OF COMPASSION

Do you put off thinking about God because you are so ashamed of certain features of your life? Do you find it hard to pray because you'd feel like such a hypocrite? Have you sinned often, not out of ignorance but in spite of knowing better?

Are you possibly afraid of God Himself? Are you afraid that judgment day will be terrifying because you are so unworthy? Are you afraid to die? Well, guess what – your Savior Jesus knew that you needed His help. He died and rose again to take away your guilt. All of it. He did it not to give a reward to the perfect but to be able to forgive sinful fools like you.

In repentance and faith, just throw your guilt at the foot of his cross. In Luke chapter 15, Jesus tells us that when the prodigal son returned home in sorrow, he humbled himself before his father: "His father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him" (verse 20).

That's the kind of hug from God that is waiting for you.
