July 27 Introduction Confusion over the expected return of Christ continued to cause disturbances in the church at Thessalonica. In today’s reading, Paul greets the Thessalonians and tells them he is pleased with their faith and love, which has grown despite suffering. He describes how those who reject God will be punished. Today’s Scripture Reading 2 Thessalonians 1:1-12 Today’s Key Verse:  2 Thessalonians 1:11b "We ask our God to make you worthy of the life he has called you to live. May he fulfill by his power all your desire for goodness and complete your work of faith." Reflect How does Paul describe the time of judgment? What does he say about those who believe the message about Jesus? How can you encourage and reassure those who are anxious about the Lord’s coming? Pray Lord Jesus, as I eagerly await your return, fulfill my desire for goodness and help me to grow day by day in faith and love. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
