ENEMY ENTRY
Identify the enemy: Remember, your spouse is not your enemy, your in-laws aren’t your enemies, not even the “other” woman or man in your spouse’s life is your enemy. We have one common enemy who is satan – the liar, the thief, and the cunning one that seeks to infiltrate our lives and marriages. His agenda is to steal, kill, and destroy all that God has planned for the marriage.
Identify the enemy’s entry: Every sin is an open invitation to the enemy. He seldom intrudes uninvited; rather, he employs deceitful tactics to instil doubt. If we fail to discern the enemy's lies, we risk falling into traps similar to those faced by Eve. The enemy can gain access when we neglect our relationship or if we have been so traditional that we forgot the Word of God. These are just a few examples. Ask God to open your spiritual eyes to recognize the enemy's entry and his foothold in your life and marriage.
Shut the door: The first step toward kicking the enemy out of our life and marriage is to accept our failure, confess our sins, repent, and ask Jesus to cleanse us and our marriage of all the defilement that sin has caused in the marriage. Cancel every legal right given to the enemy. Finally, invite and allow Jesus to rule and reign in your marriage.
Prayer: Father, forgive me for carelessly allowing the enemy to gain access into my life, marriage & family. Cleanse me from all my sins and sanctify me. Today, I decree and declare in Jesus’ name that my life and marriage belong to Jesus. Satan, you have no legal authority over me or my marriage. My bondage is broken, and I am set free. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The disciples were caught in a storm while Jesus slept in their boat. They woke Him, pleading for help, and He miraculously calmed the storm. Similarly, in troubled marriages, we may seek God’s divine intervention, but God often focuses on transforming hearts. This devotional encourages opening our hearts to Jesus for the necessary support in a marital relationship. In order to restore a marriage relationship, God may sometimes choose just one spouse. You may be that one! We pray that this devotional will guide you in opening your heart to Jesus, allowing Him to provide the counsel you need.
