This plan looks at a vital spiritual practice to all seeking growth in God: tilling the soil of the heart. God longs for us to till the soil of our hearts that we might be receptive to the seed of his word and bear fruit. May your heart become responsive to the presence, will, and love of God as you cultivate good soil with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Amid a polarizing political season, I believe there is a better way. I believe there is a kingdom-way to navigate and thrive in this divisive time in our country. I believe God offers us a path forward, marked by peace, humility, and unity. Let’s seek to live differently than the world around us. Your unshakable example of God’s love will speak louder than you may ever know.

Christmas is a time when we as believers celebrate God’s heart to write himself into our story. Prior to Jesus, we had no real picture of God’s love. All we had to know him by was through stories of old and commandments written into law. But only in Jesus was a pathway created whereby we could walk in intimacy with the Father again. Only in Jesus was the veil torn, allowing God’s manifest presence into the earth. We owe all that we have to Jesus. We owe all that we have to Christmas.

 As children of God, we have been given a new home and a new hope. And when we learn to live for heaven, the cares and weights of this world fall off our shoulders in light of our place in God’s advancing Kingdom. In this 7-day plan, you’ll create space every day to cast your burdens at the feet of Jesus, and rejoice in the hope of the eternal life you’re already living in God. 

We'll spend time stirring our affections for God through renewing our minds. Your mind is the gateway to your affections. What you think is worthy of your affections is what receives them. As we grow in understanding of God’s overwhelming goodness we naturally give him our hearts. May you be stirred by the unconditional love of your heavenly Father as his perfect nature is revealed in greater, more transformative ways.

James 2:26 says, “Faith apart from works is dead.” If we’re to experience the fullness of life offered to us through our faith we must put our words into action. We must not profess to love God on Sundays and live as if he isn’t present, real, or good on Monday. May your faith come alive as you seek to be a doer of the word.

God made incredible promises to us. Promises of his nearness, affections, and eternal life. But we have the power to choose our own way. God’s word won’t have power in our lives if we don’t read it. We won’t hear God if we’re not listening. We can’t experience his nearness if we fill our lives with other things. Let’s explore the ways we can experience the incredible promises of God.

God’s presence is full of love and completely transformational. It takes what was lost and guides us to our rightful place in the Father. It satisfies the weary and pours out the refreshing rain of God’s love on the deepest parts of the soul. May you respond to God’s word by seeking out that for which you were made: continual encounter with your heavenly Father.

Trust is the most valuable commodity of the human heart. Without trust, there can’t be love. Without trust, there can’t be faith. Without trust, our lives will be marked by our own strength, rather than God’s presence and power. In this 7-day plan, you’ll discover God’s faithfulness, and be equipped to place your trust in God, that your life would be filled with his goodness.
