A kingdom is a domain governed by a king who exercises absolute authority; his will becomes the law of the land. In the same way, the Kingdom of God operates under the sovereign rule of God. The Beatitudes, spoken by the Lord Jesus, set forth the values and standards expected of those who desire to be citizens of this Kingdom. Though these principles may appear difficult to embody, they carry a profound beauty and transformative power when lived out. Ultimately, the Beatitudes paint a vivid picture of what it truly means to live a Christ-like life.
