“God, I thank you for including people from different backgrounds in your family.”
Read these verses carefully to see why Peter is telling his story.
The followers of Jesus in Jerusalem heard that Peter had gone to the house of Cornelius who was a Gentile. They also heard that Cornelius and some other Gentiles believed in Jesus. When Peter came to visit them in Jerusalem they talked to him about these things. They were upset because they didn’t understand that God’s plan was for everyone to come to Jesus, not just Jews. Peter told them everything that had happened, and then they understood. They were happy to know that God welcomes believers from different backgrounds into his family. Aren’t you thankful that God invites everyone to come to him?
