Genesis 12-50 is a sprawling story of 4 generations of one family: the family of Abraham. The story begins with God’s call to a man named Abraham. Then the story winds its way through Abraham’s life, then his son Isaac’s life, then through his grandsons Jacob and Esau. Genesis ends with the family of Abraham living in Egypt, setting up the story of the Exodus.
