My Advent Journey is a personal look at your Christmas – how you prepare for and celebrate the coming of Christ. This journey will take place in four ways:

•	Look in – A time of introspection and listening, looking at your longing.
•	Step back – What is Christmas’ truest meaning?
•	Time out – How is God speaking to you?
•	Slow down – Stop and consider the soul work that needs to be done.

So, take the journey…your own personal journey and may you find greater revelation and intentionality in your celebration of the coming of Christ

In this seven-day reading plan, journey through the Christmas season by reflecting on Jesus's nature as King. From his sacrificial love to his merciful heart, triumphant victory, and humble leadership, we’ll discover together how King Jesus transforms our lives. Each day invites you to pause, center your heart, and encounter Christ in a fresh way.

God With Us: Encountering the King This Christmas

The season of Advent invites us to prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus, not just with celebration but with reflection. In the Christmas story, fear is a recurring theme: in the Temple, in dreams, on hillsides and in quiet homes. Yet each time, God responds not with judgement but with reassurance: ‘Do not be afraid.’ In this series, we explore how choosing faith over fear helps us to welcome Jesus more deeply into our lives.

This Advent journeys through the story of Jesus’ birth with John Mathews and Esther Sisulu, hosts of Mission 66, exploring Matthew and Luke. Reflect on Christ’s miraculous advent, connecting Old Testament prophecies to their New Testament fulfillment. Designed for adults, the plan includes weekly scripture readings, reflections, songs, and family activities to share the true meaning of the season with children. Each Sunday focuses on themes of promise, hope, and salvation, fostering deeper joy and anticipation as you celebrate Christ’s coming together. To help prepare our hearts for the Christmas season, you can start December 1st and spend the next twenty-four days journeying through the Gospel of Luke together. Each day, you will read a chapter, reflect on devotional materials written by members of the Beijing International Christian community, answer questions relevant to your life, and spend time in prayer.
