Multiplying Leaders

As he spoke, I began to realize I was listening to something remarkable. He was a high school teacher turned Kenyan church planter. An ordinary man with an extraordinary God.

His story started with seven small churches. That alone would have been considered fruitful. But God’s Spirit kept moving. From seven, the movement spread to dozens, then hundreds. Today, more than 260 churches across the continent trace their roots back to what began through one man’s obedience.

When I asked him how he could possibly keep pace with such growth, his answer was simple: “I don’t try to do it all myself. I pour into others who will pour into others.”

That’s the heart of multiplication. The Gospel spreads fastest not through addition, but through disciples who make disciples. It’s the same vision Paul passed on to Timothy: “What you have heard from me… entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” Four generations in one verse: Paul, Timothy, faithful leaders, and those they will teach.

This isn’t just a strategy for rapid church growth overseas. This is a calling for every follower of Jesus. Who are you pouring your life into? Who will carry the message of Jesus further because of your investment?
