Awakening Faith: Hope From the Global Churchਨਮੂਨਾ

Power in Weakness
There are few places that have endured more hardship than Haiti. Wars, political unrest, earthquakes, hurricanes, poverty…the list of wounds feels unending. Yet earlier this year, I received a photo that stopped me in my tracks.
In the picture, a group of Haitian believers had gathered to begin the new year. They weren’t celebrating wealth or stability. They weren’t surrounded by comfort or security. They were praying. Crying out for their nation. Asking God to move.
What struck me was not their weakness, but their confidence in God’s strength. They understood what Paul came to learn: when we are at our lowest, God shows Himself strong. Where human ability runs out, divine power breaks in.
The world sees fragility and failure. God sees an opportunity for His glory. These brothers and sisters know that the Gospel often shines brightest in the darkest nights. And they’ve embraced it with expectation.
Paul wrote of his own trials: “I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” Weakness wasn’t a liability. It was the doorway to strength.
Where do you need to stop hiding your weakness and instead boast in it? Where do you need to let Christ’s power rest on you?
