I had just returned from one of the largest gatherings of Christian leaders from the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking world. It was electric—one of those rare moments when you can sense that history is shifting.

For generations, we in the West have looked at Ibero-America as a mission field. But what I witnessed was something far greater: the church there has become a mission force. Ordinary believers, fueled by the Spirit, are stepping into bold, visionary leadership.

I listened as teams shared strategies to carry the Gospel into the most persecuted nations on earth. They spoke of planting churches and starting movements in the 10/40 Window, where billions still live without ever hearing the name of Jesus. They weren’t talking about someday. They were moving forward now.

Their confidence reminded me of Paul’s words to the Romans: “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” These brothers and sisters are not waiting for perfect conditions. They’re not silencing their voices out of fear. They’re bold because they believe the Gospel still changes everything.

And here’s the challenge for us: if God is raising up leaders from across the Global South to bring light to the darkest places on earth, how can we hold back in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and schools? Boldness is not about personality—it’s about surrender to the Spirit.
