The Harvest is Plentiful
In Sub-Saharan Africa, the church is exploding with life. New believers are being baptized every day. Entire villages are being transformed. By the middle of this century, Africa will likely be home to the largest Christian population in the world. God is moving in unprecedented ways!
I remember one leader sharing an illustration I’ll never forget. He said, “If you come upon ten men carrying a log—nine on one side and one struggling alone on the other—you don’t ask where to help. You know. You run to the side with the one.”
That’s the picture of the global church right now. God is raising up leaders in Africa, Latin America, and Asia, and they are carrying a heavy load. The Spirit is moving with power. The harvest is overwhelming. And the question for us is not if we should help, but how.
Jesus looked out on the crowds in Matthew 9 with deep compassion. He saw the potential to love and serve them. So He told his disciples to pray. But He didn’t stop there. In the very next chapter, He sent them out. He invited them to become the answer to the prayer they had just prayed.
