The Kid: An Advent Devotional for High Schoolersਨਮੂਨਾ

It can be easy to talk about our destinations without considering the journey to reach them. We celebrate that we made the team but forget how much work it took. We love to talk about the grade we got on our final without remembering the hours of studying. That first Christmas reminds us that while the destination is the endpoint, there’s value in the journey, too.
Mary and Joseph are remembered today as Jesus’ parents! But we can’t overlook their journey—from traveling to find a place to stay to the emotional journey of understanding they’d have a child to the spiritual journey of believing this child was the Kid who would save the world. As we walk toward goals and destinations, it’s important to value the journey and how it changes us.
Today, reflect on your journey with Jesus. What steps of faith have you been challenged to take? How have you seen your relationship with Him grow? Where do you want your faith to go in the future?
