Can you imagine how hard it must be to pick out a name for a new baby? For some, just trying to name their pets is a challenge. How could anyone come up with a name for an actual human baby without second-guessing themselves? For Mary, the mother of Jesus Himself, this was an easy issue to take on. No, she didn’t expect to be pregnant. No, she didn’t plan to give birth to the Savior of the world. But one thing she did know?

Thanks to the angel who assured her of her role in Jesus’ birth, she knew He would be named Jesus. This name would come to be known as the name that generations of people would put their faith in. It’s the name we celebrate every season at Christmas and hopefully every day after that!
