Flee, Pursue and Fight
1 Timothy 6:11, 12
“But you, man of God, flee from all this (greed, false doctrines), and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith…”
When we find our life in God we are free to pursue the qualities that bring him glory. The temptation to find our security in wealth is directly opposed to the contentment and peace we have in Jesus. Our hearts can’t pursue both godliness and wealth without becoming self-conflicted. To pursue righteousness and love , we must pursue Christ. He is our security, our hope and our eternal future. Jesus is worth fighting for. When our faith is attacked by doubt, by fear, by greed or any other distraction, we must resist and refocus our eyes on Jesus. He is our life.
Lord Jesus, I pray for grace to flee the things that distract me from faith in you, and grace to pursue you with all my heart this day.
