To the Very End

Hebrews 6:11, 12
“We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.”

Some Jewish believers in Jesus, during the time the book of Hebrews was written, were leaving the church and returning to the synagogue. The book is written to explain the supremacy of Jesus as the true and eternal High Priest, and the new covenant as superseding the old covenant. However, the application of living with diligence, faith and patience is applicable to all believers for all ages. What is at stake is our eternal inheritance and hope in Christ. Faith in Jesus Christ is not just the entry point to the path of discipleship, but faith in Christ is the path itself. We trust Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins, and for the daily grace, guidance and power we need to live for Him and with Him.

Jesus, you are my inheritance! I pray for grace and mercy to rely on you for all things to the end.
