A Witness
Acts 26:16-18
“I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen of me and what I will show you…I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God…”
The call of Paul was that of a witness to what he had seen and heard about Jesus. He was a witness and a servant of Jesus. We too must first encounter and experience Jesus and his saving grace in our lives before we become a witness. When we witness to propositional truths we have not experienced, that witness lacks the Holy Spirit’s anointing. We are witnesses first and foremost to a person who we know, the Lord Jesus Christ. That personal witness is a weapon – we overcome by the word of our testimony. The power of Satan has been defeated by the death and resurrection of Jesus. Our experience of the fruit of that salvation act is our most powerful message.
Jesus, you are my story. Give me opportunities to point others to you today, for your glory.
