Make Money Serve You
You can always tell when money is in charge. It demands your attention, drains your peace, and determines your decisions. But something shifts when money takes its rightful place. When it begins to serve the purpose of God in your life, everything changes.
The goal is not accumulation. The goal is alignment. When Jesus takes His place as Lord, everything else, including money, comes into order.
Romans 13 instructs us to leave no debt outstanding except the ongoing debt to love. This is more than financial advice; it is a declaration of identity. You were created to live free. Free from pressure. Free from anxiety. Free from the crushing weight of financial fear. This is not just an ideal. It is a spiritual reality that God invites you into.
Many live under the influence of a quiet lie: that more money will fix what feels broken. But trust placed in money always disappoints. The answer is not more income. The answer is more of the Kingdom.
When your life is under God’s authority, money becomes a servant. It becomes a tool for a purpose. It becomes a resource that strengthens your family, builds the Church, and advances the mission of God on the earth. This is why this conversation matters. This is why it cannot be avoided.
Jesus made it clear. No one can serve two masters. The question is not theoretical. It is deeply personal. Who leads your life? If Jesus is Lord, then every part of your life must come under His rule, including your finances.
Surrender is the language of trust. It is the posture of a heart that recognises God as both provider and Lord. To live with open hands and a full heart is to declare, “Everything I have belongs to You.” From this place of yielded obedience, freedom begins. This is the ground where lasting things are built.
Imagine the Church filled with people who are free from fear, free from debt, and free from greed. Imagine the strength. The generosity. The impact. When God’s people stop serving money and begin to use it for His purpose, cities are changed, lives are restored, and eternity is marked.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, reveal where money has taken the lead in my life. Teach me to live surrendered, open-handed, and confident in Your provision. This week, I choose to honour You with my finances. Let my money move with purpose under the Lordship of Jesus.
About this Plan

Jesus taught about money and why it matters so much to our walk with him. Money is not just a resource; it reveals what we trust, who we serve, and how we live. As we learn about stewardship, tithing, and generosity, we will discover how following Jesus transforms our hearts and shapes the way we live.
