Dare to Dream

DAY 10 OF 12

Dare to dream of a future full of light

“And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:5 ESV)

When Jesus was on earth, He made Himself known as “the Light of the world.” John described how “the true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.” (John 1:9 ESV) God is also associated with light in the book of Psalms: “With You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.” (Psalm 36:9 ESV) How desperately we need Him; without Him there is only darkness and death!

In our present age, the light of God is often overshadowed by “the cosmic powers over this present darkness” and “the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12 ESV) But God's new world leaves no more room for them.

Therefore, there will be no more night. Bright light always shines, radiating from God Himself.

Not only the world around us, but also our own hearts can sometimes be very dark. A wide range of things can block our view of God. That too will no longer happen in the new world. He will be so prominently present that His light permeates everything.

Do you experience darkness in your heart or in your life circumstances? How could you bring that to God, the source of light?
