Dare to dream of a future without pain and sorrow
“God Himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore.” (Revelation 21:3-4 ESV)
Sometimes we celebrate life and enjoy all the beauty God gives us. Those moments are to be cherished! But just as often we are confronted with sorrow and pain. When Moses looked back at the end of his life, he commented, “The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.” (Psalm 90:10 ESV)
Grief can deprive you of all joy in life. Missing a loved one can be extremely painful. Likewise, a serious illness or disability can be hard to bear. So much so that you wonder if life is still worth living and whether you can still cope.
If you're completely worn out, read the vision of God's new world in Revelation 21. That paints a very different picture: God will wipe away all tears. There will be no more mourning, lamentation or trouble. What a glorious prospect that is!
No more tears
No more crying
There’s a country awaiting us
No more sadness, no more sighing
God’s preparing a place for us

Do you experience life as hard? What do you find most difficult? How does the vision from Revelation help you find hope and courage?

About this Plan

In daily life, it is often helpful to be down to earth. But God also encourages us to keep dreaming — dreaming of His Kingdom of peace, justice and light.
