30 Days With the Psalmsનમૂનો

Deep and lasting joy
“You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound” (Psalm 4:7 ESV).
Knowing God personally brings abundant joy. In this Psalm, David contrasts his joy with the joy experienced by people around him. Those other people have more material wealth, but their pleasure in nothing compared to the joy that God gives in one’s heart.
The Bible does not say that material wealth is bad or unimportant. It is just not essential for a fulfilled life, nor is it a guarantee for lasting joy. Your relationship with God is far more important! See for example Proverbs 15:16 (ESV): “Better is a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble with it.”
One reason why life with God gives more joy than earthly things is that it lasts longer. When we die, we can’t take our possessions with us. But life with God lasts forever and is far more stable. Although our relationship with God may have ups and downs, the source of our joy is stable and endless.
Do you experience God’s joy in your heart? What is your greatest source of happiness?
