Acts: Go & Be Chapters 1-9Exemple

What is this passage saying?
The Ethiopian eunuch was in Jerusalem to worship God, but didn’t quite understand the scriptures he was reading. Philip, prompted by The Holy Spirit, ran over to him, he didn’t walk when The Spirit spoke to him, he ran, and helped the man. We see the openness of the Ethiopian eunuch, who was of some authority, to allow a man to come sit with him and explain what he did not know. Then the immediate obedience in what he had heard is a faith that is to be emulated.
What is this passage teaching?
When God speaks to you, you better move. Philip didn’t sit around and become fearful of approaching a stranger: he obeyed the call of God. We as believers must be prepared to obey as Philip did. The eunuch was searching for God and Philip helped guide him to Jesus. What sovereignty God has over the passage of scripture the eunuch was reading! Philip was willing and it changed the man’s life forever, so let us also be as willing as Philip to be used by God.
How do I respond?
Be prepared, joyous, and bold with the opportunities God has given you to share the gospel.
