Acts: Go & Be Chapters 1-9Exemple

What is this passage saying?
You would think that Stephen would be recognized for being a great man who served and followed God. The religious leaders of that day were so blinded and stubborn they couldn’t stand what he proclaimed. They questioned him but couldn’t convict him, so they went on to frame him. Stephen had so much wisdom because The Holy Spirit spoke truth to them, but the leaders resisted. They killed him, and Stephen became the first martyr of the church. One of the men there that day was a pharisee named Saul.
What is this passage teaching?
Stephen saw Jesus standing Jesus standing at the right hand of God. This humble servant who didn’t look for glory was elevated by God to the main stage. Stephen’s life is ending because of his proclamation of the gospel. Every other time we see Jesus in the New Testament at the right hand of God, He is sitting there. Here Jesus is standing, standing to honor the faithfulness and boldness of His servant Stephen. He is there waiting to welcome His son. Stephen’s last words before he died were, Father forgive them.
How do I respond?
Persecution is one way that the gospel will reach more people. You must be faithful to what God has called you to, and He will be there to welcome you home on the day you reach glory. Forgive those who stand against you and pray for their salvation.
