Walking With Jesus Exemple

Our first week we will focus on Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness.
Everyone faces temptation but the great news is that God always provides a way out. In fact Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
What is temptation? Temptation is anything that promises satisfaction at the cost of obedience to God. It’s important to know that it is not a sin to be tempted because Jesus himself was tempted. Hebrews tells us in Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest [Jesus] who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
Today we’ll read the entire passage of Jesus being tempted in the wilderness.
Today’s Scripture: Matthew 4:1-11
Pray: Ask God to reveal to you His truths as you read His Word. Don’t skip this important step.
Read:: As you read ask the “5 W’s and an H” questions: Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?
Daily Challenge: In the notes of your phone, in a journal, or on a notecard, write the 3 scriptures Jesus responded with when He was tempted by satan.
