30 Wisdom SayingsExemple

SAYING 8: WORK HARD FOR WHAT MATTERS
They say that money doesn't buy happiness. Solomon realized this thousands of years ago. It's not that money isn't important, or that it doesn't make life easier in some ways (it definitely does). What the Proverbs are teaching us is that money, or wealth, should not be what we ultimately strive for in life.
Why? Because it is fleeting. "Cast but a glance at riches and they are gone." Our focus should not be on the things that are fleeting or temporal but on the things that are eternal: faith, hope, and love. Let this be what you strive for. All other things will be supplementary.
- Pastor Andres Figueroa
ACTION
Ask yourself - what do you ultimately strive for? What brings you joy? What is your North Star? Is it faith, hope and love? Or is it something else? Reorient your dependence on the people and things that last.
PRAY
Ask God to examine your heart. Ask Him to tell you what things have your attention that shouldn't. Pray for forgiveness and that you would find peace in seeking after His heart alone.
